With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, what better way to celebrate than by crafting a beautiful, heartfelt decoration to brighten up your space? DIY is the perfect way to express your creativity and make something special for the occasion. Today, we’ll guide you through making a fun and easy heart suncatcher! Not only will it add a touch of love to your home, but you’ll also enjoy the satisfaction of creating something with your own hands. Ready to spread some love and creativity? Let’s get started!
l Colored adhesive paper (choose your favorite colors!)
l Transparent plastic sheet or thin plastic film
l Scissors
l Glue or double-sided tape
l String or ribbon (to hang your suncatcher)
Cut the tissue paper into small pieces. On a sheet of white paper, draw a heart shape. Take a sheet of self-adhesive paper (don’t peel it yet) and tape it, sticky side up, onto a piece of cardboard. Peel off the left side of the backing to expose the sticky surface, then fold the paper over to cover the right half of the self-adhesive sheet. At the top and bottom along the fold line (on the left side, sticky side facing up), attach small strips of blue masking tape for extra reinforcement.

Place the white paper with the heart drawing under the left side as a template. Tear or cut tissue paper and randomly stick the pieces onto the exposed sticky surface within the heart shape. Once the heart is filled, peel off the backing from the right side of the self-adhesive sheet and fold it over to the left, so the sticky sides face each other. The tissue paper is now sandwiched between the two layers of adhesive paper. Next, carefully cut out the heart shape from the white paper. Use it as a template to trim the sticky paper into the heart suncatcher shape.

Place the ends of yarn or ribbon on the left and right sides of the heart, and secure them with glue. Your heart-shaped suncatcher is now ready to hang and catch the sunlight!
colorful light spots dancing around the room, filling the space with warmth and charm.

Making this heart suncatcher not only lets you enjoy the fun of creating something by hand, but it also brings a cozy, personalized decoration into your home, perfect for Valentine's Day. Every time sunlight filters through the suncatcher, you’ll be reminded of your creativity and craftsmanship. Plus, the process is simple and enjoyable, making it a perfect project to do with family or kids, helping them develop motor skills and creative thinking.
