Make an easy royal paper crown using our printable crown templates. Just print, color and glue the pieces together for a quick king or queen's crown.
SUPPLIES NEEDED
Printable cardstock
Gold tempera or poster paint
Scissors
Glue
Paint brush
Things to decorate the crown with: glitter glue, rhinestones, sequins, gem-style stickers, etc.
1.Print out the crown template.
Choose from any of these king and queen crown templates. Print out your chosen template on A4 or Letter size cardstock.
The king and queen's crown templates are quite intricate for younger children to cut. If you want a
paper crown that kids can make more independently, try these simple crown templates:

2.Cut out the template.
Cut out the template pieces.
3.Apply glue on the tab.
Take one of the template pieces with a tab labeled with the words "overlap here" and bordered by dashed lines. Apply glue on the entire tab area.
4.Glue two template pieces together.
Take the template piece without a tab. Connect its right edge with the template piece in Step 3, overlapping them on the tab area. Press to glue in place.
5.Connect the 3rd template piece.
Connect the third template piece following Steps 3 and 4.
6.Trim off the excess length.
Let the glue dry for a few minutes before measuring the crown around your head. Teens and adults may need a fourth template piece (print out two copies of the template in Step 1) to create a crown that is big enough.
Once you have marked the ideal length for a comfortable fit on your head, trim off the excess length.
7.Paint the crown.
Paint the crown with gold or silver tempera or poster paint.
* If you want to skip the painting or coloring step, print out the crown template on gold cardstock in Step 1.
8.Decorate the crown.
Once the paint dries, decorate your crown by gluing rhinestones, plastic gems or
sequins. Another way to create jewels is to cut out various shapes out of tinsel or
metallic paper.
You can also make sparkly lines and dots with glitter glue or metallic puffy paint.
9.Let the glue dry.
When you're happy with how your crown looks, set it aside to dry.
