Nothing adds pizzazz to your cards like glitter paper! A little goes a long way but do you ever find it dulling your cutting blades or that your adhesives just aren’t sticking to it? Here are some tips to help you use glitter paper to it’s fullest potential.
Stampin’ Up! calls it Glimmer Paper but no matter what you call it the surface feels and shines like glitter. It’s got a rough texture that can sometimes be tough to work with. Here’s what I’ve found works the best.
Tips for Using Glitter Paper:
When cutting your glitter paper turn it UPSIDE DOWN so that the smooth back side is up. That will help keep your cutting blades sharp and make the cutting go smoother so you can keep your lines straight.
If possible, I also recommend you keep a cutting blade just for your glitter paper. I take an older blade and write a “D” on it with a sharpie so I know that it is a duller blade. It might rough up the edges of my plain card stock but it’s perfect for cutting glitter paper and keeps my newer blades sharp.
Since glitter paper is a little heavier you’ll want to use a stronger adhesive.
It can also be tricky to get adhesive to stick to the top of your glitter paper. work great. Be sure to press down firmly on each dimensional so that it will stay stuck to the glitter paper.
