What are the advantages and precautions of BOPP cellophane?
2024-05-20 09:54
The BOPP cellophane is produced by first forming a melt of high molecular polypropylene into a sheet or a thick film through a narrow machine head, and then simultaneously or stepping at a certain temperature and a set speed in a dedicated stretching machine. A film that is stretched in two perpendicular directions (longitudinal, transverse) and subjected to appropriate cooling or heat treatment or special processing (such as corona, coating, etc.).

Commonly used BOPP cellophanes include: ordinary biaxially oriented polypropylene film, heat-sealed biaxially oriented polypropylene film, cigarette packaging film, biaxially oriented polypropylene pearl film, biaxially oriented polypropylene metallized film, matte film, and the like.

Advantages of BOPP cellophane

BOPP cellophane is a very important flexible packaging material. BOPP cellophane is colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and has high tensile strength, impact strength, rigidity, toughness and good transparency.
BOPP cellophane has low surface energy and needs corona treatment before coating or printing. After corona treatment, the BOPP cellophane has good printing adaptability, can be printed in color, and has a beautiful appearance effect, and thus is often used as a surface layer material of the composite film.

Production Process

The BOPP cellophane can be produced by a tubular film method or a flat film method. The performance of BOPP cellophanes obtained by different processing methods is also different. The BOPP cellophane produced by the flat film method has a higher draw ratio (up to 8-10), so the strength is higher than that of the tube film method, and the uniformity of the film thickness is also good.

Production considerations

In order to obtain better comprehensive performance, it is usually produced by a multi-layer composite method in the production process. BOPP can be combined with a variety of different materials to meet specific application needs. For example, BOPP can be combined with LDPE (CPP), PE, PT, PO, PVA, etc. to obtain high gas barrier, moisture resistance, transparency, high temperature resistance and low temperature resistance, retort resistance and oil resistance. Different composite membranes can be applied to oily foods. It is packed with foods, dry foods, impregnated foods, various cooked foods, monosodium glutamate, pancakes, rice cakes, etc.
